So I woke up without an alarm again this morning at 5:30 and I got up and did my weigh-in and I was down 0.1 kgs to 104.6 kgs which is good. More importantly my airways seem way less inflamed again and I am breathing better so I think a weekly fast might be the way to go moving forwards!
I then chilled for a bit and its now 7:30 am and I am getting ready to go to the pump track and test out the Black Market with the 80 mm forks.
I got to the track for about 8:00 and rode for just over an hour on the Black Market and did mostly 1st and 3rd straights. The reduction in fork travel has made the bike feel way better ad the top tube is way less steep now so the stand-over height has reduced as a result making the bike feel like a BMX Cruiser now! The bars feel a bit low now as my back was hurting by the end of the session but that can be fixed by putting the higher rise BMX style bars on the bike again. The forks have been really sell setup for my weight too so they never went over 3/4 of the travel even with some pretty heavy cases which is great. I basically forgot that I had bouncy forks on the bike after a bit which is great!
I then went home and waited for my son to wake up then made some burgers and we headed over to my parents where I out everything back from where I was cleaning the conservatory on Friday night and then I hoovered through the house then we headed home.
I then chilled for the rest of the night.
I only managed 5833 steps for the day!
Monday 28th April 2025
This morning I woke up at 6 am with my alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and I was down 0.1 kgs again to 104.5 kgs this morning. I then got showered and dressed and walked into the office for a 7 am start! At about 1 pm I walked home and made bacon, eggs and sausages as I was starving by that point as it was almost 2 pm! By the time I got home I was already on 11608 steps for the day so I will be able to chill all night!
I then went back to work again until about 15:30 when my friend popped round and dropped some stuff off for the BMX Club.
When my friend left I decided to fit the 16t Onyx cog that got delivered from Crucial BMX while i was in the office I then swapped out the Onyx wheel for the Profile Elite wheel that was on the Curtis and pumped the tyre up as it was super flat as its been in a cupboard for months waiting for the rain to stop!
This evening I plan to sort the bars on the Black Market Contraband as well.
So this week on a whim I did a 72 hour fast and I found out some surprising things about myself!
On Wednesday night I was driving home from my friend’s house after getting a lift to gates at Andover BMX I was thinking about if I should eat before bed or not and I realized that I hadn’t eaten since about 3 pm so now would be a good time to start my 72 hour fast that I was thinking about trying! My thinking was that I was already 6 hours into a fast and with adding sleep I would be about 16 hours into the fast before I woke up so I would have almost done a 1/4 of the 72 hours without thinking!
On Thursday I woke up and was feeling really good, I got up and did my weigh-in and I was down from 108.9 kgs to a staggering 107.7 kgs! So 1.2 kgs dropped over night basically!
The next 5 hours were fine as I always fast until 11-12 anyway.
To be honest the Thursday was actually really easy and I didn’t really want to eat at all which was nice but a bit weird as for the past few weeks I had been trying to go carnivore but getting massive sugar withdrawal and cravings in the afternoon/evenings which meant that I was caving and eating sweets every night π
So this morning I woke up after another night of no asthma at just after 7 am and got up and did my first weigh-in post fast and I was up 0.3 kgs to 105.8 kgs which I will take after eating as much as I did yesterday after 3 days of no food!
I am now getting ready to go for a walk along the 2 tunnels for a bit to get some steps in as I have been really slack on walking over my holidays so I need to get back to it! I went for a quick 30 minute walk and walked 1.77 miles and did 3642 steps according to Strava and I got my back moving so its hurting less now.
When I got home I got a message to say that my friend and his wife were on their way over to go for a bike ride so I jumped in the shower to free my back up then got dressed in my riding stuff and was just going to the garage to get my bike when they turned up so perfect timing.
We then pootled along the 2 tunnels to to Wellow and back and got back about 11ish after doing 10 miles. I had forgotten how nice it was to do that so I need to start doing it regularly.
I am currently on 7999 steps for the day so I may wake my son up at 12:00 and drag him for another walk before we head over to my brother’s house at 13:30 for more roast dinners π
The rest of the day I didn’t do much other then eat and drink until about 6 pm when we took the dog for a quick walk which got me over 10000 steps for the day so that was me done!
We later headed home and by the end of the day I was on 11498 steps
Monday 21st April 2025
Weight = 105.9 kgs
Over night I picked up an ear ache/ tooth ache and my back got worse so when I woke up I decided to rest today instead of do the gym or go for a walk. I got up and did my weigh-in and I am up 0.1 kgs to 105.9 kgs which isn’t too bad considering all I ate and drank over the weekend! Also another night asthma free so something I was eating was causing my asthma! My nose is getting a bit more congested but I am still able to breath through it but I hope that going full carnivore will sort that up as I have eaten a lot of Roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and sweet deserts over the weekend and drunk beer which I don’t usually do!
I am having a rest day today which I need as I am pretty sore and I am taking my son to the Air Museum as a well done for passing his driving test so will get a lot of walking done anyway π We will pop into my parents on the way home so it should be pretty easy to get the steps in today hopefully!
From today I am going full carnivore for a bit and I think that I will try and do once meal a day to keep the fasting going for as long as possible now that my body is used to fasting and burning fat predominantly! yesterday I easily fasted until 2 pm before I ate so I will try and eat around 2-3 pm every day and that is it and see how that goes!
I am also hoping that eating once a day will lead to maximal fat loss so that I can get to my coal weight of 85 kgs as quickly as possible.
So after the Museum we went to my parents house and I did the cleaning while my son went for a walk with my parents and the dog to get them out of the way! We staid there until about 4 pm then headed home.
At about 19:30 I realised that I still had 1500 steps to go to get to my 10000 step goal so I got them done on the treadmill then I got some extra steps in doing the washing, washing up and feeding the axolotls.
By the end of the day I got to 10401 Steps.
Tuesday 22nd April 2025
Weight = 106.3 kgs
Steps = 10286 Steps
This morning I woke up at 6 am as I was really tired for some reason! I did my weigh-in and I have put on another 0.4 kgs so I am up to 106.3 kgs so I got showered and dressed and did my usual 2-tunnels lap and got in a 2.32 mile and 4832 steps walk in before work.
I have been moving around the flat as much as possible and I am currently on 5279 steps and its not even 9 am yet so I am looking good to get the steps in by the end of the day!
When I finished work at 11:30 ish I cleaned and organised the flat as my parents were coming over and the flat was a mess!
At about 16:30 we headed over to my ex wife’s flat for dinner.
I got home about 20:30 and had 1200 steps to go so I hopped on the treadmill and got them done before going to bed and watching videos until 22:00.
By the end of the say I had done 10286 Steps
Wednesday 23rd April 2025
Weight = 108 kgs
Steps = 12568 Steps
So another asthma free night tonight! I woke up with my alarm at 5 am but was really tired still so I set my alarm to 6 am and then slept again. I then slept through the 6 am alarm and woke up at 6:15! I then rushed and did my weigh-in and was surprised to see that I am up to 108 kgs this morning!!!! So I put on 1.7 kgs yesterday!!! Not good.
I then showered and got dressed and walked to the office without the 9kg weight plate in the rucksack as my back is a bit sore still and I didn’t want to mess my back up any more than it is! I did a few bits in the office then walked home again and by the time I got home I was on 7476 steps so well on my way to the 10000 steps.
I am now working until 12:00 and then driving to my parents house to work from there all afternoon before heading to my friends to get a lift to Andover for gates.
I am thinking that instead of focusing on BMX specific training for the next couple of months I should focus more on the gym riding the road bike instead to get my weight down as much as possible and build a base fitness too.
I also need to be stricter with my diet too as eating everything like I have this week has meant that I have put on 2.2 of the 3.1 kgs that I lost while fasting in 4 days π
I am thinking of maybe doing another 40 hour fast this weekend to reset my brain again and restart carnivore cleanly on Sunday. If I stop eating after 8 pm on Friday as normal and then don’t eat all day Saturday and then start eating as normal at 12:00 on Sunday I will have done a 40 hour fast while only really not eating for 1 day of which I am awake for only about 15 hours of that day.
From today I am going full carnivore for a bit and I think that I will try and do one meal a day to keep the fasting going for as long as possible now that my body is used to fasting and burning fat predominantly! yesterday I easily fasted until 2 pm before I ate so I will try and eat around 2-3 pm every day and that is it and see how that goes!
I am also hoping that eating once a day will lead to maximal fat loss so that I can get to my coal weight of 85 kgs as quickly as possible.
At lunch time I ate the 2 steaks that I had cooked on Tuesday and then headed to my parents house as planned and worked there in the afternoon, I also paid for gates and membered up for Andover club as well.
When 16:00 rolled around I logged off got changed into my bmx clothes and at 16:15 I headed to my friends house and we loaded up his van and headed to Andover for gates. Gates was really fun and I got a time of 2.545 which was 0.002 off of a pb which isn’t too bad! I should be in the 2.4xx really to be on a level with all the national riders so I will work towards that. My goal is to get a 2.4xx gate at Andover by the end of June to give my weight training and sprints time to work.
I think that I will try going back to a 37 x 16 Gearing to see what that does to my times next week as I felt like I ran out of gearing part way down the start hill so adding a tooth may help with that!
By the end of the day I was on 12568 Steps.
Thursday 24th April 2025
Weight = 105.8 kgs
Steps = 5110 Steps
This morning I woke up at 6 am as I set my alarm for later as I got home late from gates last night. I got up and did my weigh-in and I was surprised to see that I was back down to 105.8 kgs so I dropped 2.2 kgs in a day which shows that eating carnivore and doing BMX helps to keep my weight down π
My legs were feeling pretty heavy from gates so I decided to chill this morning and then try and get to the track to do sprints and laps this lunch time.
I ended up not getting away from work to go to the track and do sprints but I did go to the track in the evening and set up the gate etc for the club race and then I ran the gate all evening so I didn’t get to ride at all today!
I only got 5110 steps in all day today with at least 4500 steps coming in the afternoon/ evening after work when I was at the track!
Friday 25th April 2025
Weight = 105 kgs
So this morning I woke up at 6 am with my alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and I was surprised to see that I had dropped another 0.8 kgs to 105 kgs on the nose which is pretty good going! So far this week I have gone from 105.8 kgs on Sunday to 108 kgs on Wednesday and now I am back down to 105 kgs today! So I have lost 0.8 kgs in real terms but actually lost 3 kgs from Wednesday! Any way you look at it for the amount that I have been eating this week its really good and the carnivore diet is working!
After my weigh-in I jumped in the shower and then got dressed and walked into the office and worked there until about 11:30 then went to the bank and paid some money in then walked home. I then worked at home until 3 pm when I got my son in the car and we went to TF Tuned and picked up my forks that they were servicing and lowering from 100 mm to 80 mm.
After TF Tuned we headed to my parents house and I did the hoovering and mopped the conservatory and bathrooms then we headed home and I cooked dinner and then put the forks on my bike:
The forks fit the bike better and feel a lot better too. I will test them out in the morning as I plan to take the bike to Temple Cloud or Little Stoke to get a ride in.
Saturday 26th April 2025
Weight = 104.7 kgs
Steps = 1789 Steps
So this morning I woke up at 5:30 without an exam and got up and did my weigh-in and I was down to 104.7 kgs which is good π
I then went back to bed and slept until about 11 am so I guess that I was tired π
I then got up and got salt water and took my probiotic and nmn tablets and went back to bed and messed around on my laptop waiting for my son to wake up!
I am planning to do a 36 hour fast (Actually 39.5 hours) by not eating at all today and then eating as normal around 12:00 on Sunday! I am thinking that I have a rest/fast day every week on Saturdays to keep getting the benefits of fasting without doing alternate day fasting as my training during the week will get in the way of that!
So my weekly shopping arrived about 21:30 and the pineapple container had split open so I decided to cut my fast short at 25 hours and eat the pineapple as it would be off by the time that I was eating again and my son doesn’t like pineapple! So I ate the pineapple which tasted amazing after 24 hours fasting π and I then had the 3 left over sausages from my son’s breakfast that I cooked earlier in the day and then I had one of his jam donuts to finish off which tasted rubbish compared to the pineapple to be fair π
I only managed 1789 steps for the day as I was fasting and didn’t feel like walking!
Weekly Summary
So this week has been really good weigh wise! I started the week at 105.8 kgs and finished it on 104.7 kgs so 1.1 kgs lost this week. I have noticed in the last couple of days that my arms are looking more toned and my face is looking thinner so I guess that the weight loss is fat loss which is good. I guess that the carnivore diet is doing it’s thing π
Walking wise I got over 10000 steps every day except Thursday and Saturday this week so not bad:
Sunday – 11498
Monday – 10401
Tuesday – 10286
Wednesday – 12568
Thursday – 5110
Friday – 14707
Saturday – 1789
So All week I managed 66359 steps for an average of 9479.86 steps a day so under 10000 steps a day average but not by much!
Exercise wise other then gates at Andover on Wednesday night I haven’t done much of anything this week which is a bit annoying but not the end of the world as I have been eating much better an losing weight so not the end of the world.
All in all a good week I just need to start adding the gym and sprints to the mix and I think that I will be good!
Sunday I had a busy day but it started late as I was going to Burnham in the afternoon to drop off a bike that I sold and also some forks. We then drove back to bath and then walked into town to go for a Chinese to celebrate my son passing his driving test π We then walked home and chilled until 8pm when I drove him home as we can’t afford to insure him mow he has passed π
By the end of the day I got to 9315 Steps.
Day 106 – Monday 14th April
Weight = 107.7 kgs
Steps = 4930 Steps
This morning I got up at 5 am with my alarm, got up and did my weigh-in and then got showered and changed and loaded the DJ into the car and headed to Patchway to enjoy the dry weather while it lasts π
I did about an hour at Patchway before my legs gave up and I concentrated on mostly first straights working on manualling the big jump and the triple. I got the big jump manual-ed clean about 10 times in a row so I think that I have that sorted now and got the triple sorted with the pump manual as well. The Black Market manuals really well as it has a really short end which is nice π
My wrist held up really well so I am thinking that I can try the StayStrong Cruiser with the 2.1″ tyres soon hopefully.
I then headed to Stockwood pump track for about 30 minutes as it was in the way home so it was rude not too! I didn’t get much done though as my legs were cooked from Patchway but I had fun and did a bunch of laps with clean manuals on the first and second straights so not bad.
After driving home I spent the rest of the day in bed with my legs elevated all day to get rid of the soreness.
I did remember to take my creatine with my breakfast when I got home so hopefully that will start to work sooner rather than later! I decided that I would not do the loading phase as I didn’t need the digestive issues that people were getting and I can wait for the 3 weeks it usually takes to be fully loaded just taking 5g per day anyway as I am not competing at the moment anyway.
By the end of the day I had done only 4930 steps but I had worked out a lot.
Day 107 – Tuesday 15th April 2025
Weight = Scales out of batteries π
Steps = 1484
As I was so tired from riding yesterday I slept in until about 7:30 so I guess that I was tired and needed the rest π I then got up and did my weigh-in but the scales batteries suddenly died and I didn’t have any new ones so I didn’t bother to do anything about it!
I also messaged my friend and said that I would swap the Dialled Pro XL 20″ for my old Chase OS20 as I want the frame to go on the wall as its really pretty and I want the wheels to go on my S&M .38 Special to see if I can make it into an OS20 to leave in the container to play on when I feel like it π
I then went back to bed with my legs elevated for the rest of the day as I was hurting still from the riding yesterday! I decided to take today as a rest day as I am going to Andover to do gates tomorrow night so I want to be fresh for that!
While in bed I did my weekly shopping and also re-joined the gym which I will start on Thursday morning first thing to get the timings of working out! I was planning to just work out Tuesdays and Fridays as my plan suggested but I think I will do upper-body weights on Wednesday and Friday Morning’s first thing too so that I can rehab my wrist and shoulder more as my training plan was made for when i was healthy so I may as well get into the habit of getting up and Rucking to the gym in the mornings. My training for the rest of the month and Probably next month too will be:

I want to work on being consistent at the gym and also making gates at Andover and Bath every week. At the moment Bath Gates are a bit of a struggle as I am still tired from Andover but I am hoping that soon the creatine will help me recover enough to be able to do a proper session at Bath to. Its not ideal that the gates sessions are on consecutive days but what can you do!
I have also decided that I will go back to walking 10000 steps a day with Mon-Friday being a Ruck with my new 9 kg rucksack weight always being in the rucksack π I will see how I feel on Mondays as I may change that to be a walk and take the weight out of the rucksack to work to the office on a Monday! With my water bottle in the bag the rucksack will be the dame weight as my 10 kg weight vest anyway π
I am planning to go to the gym and then head home, shower and ride the e-bike into the office to start work at 7:30 in the morning as I am not taking my 2 hour lunch breaks anyway so I may as well start an hour later and take an hour for lunch instead!
I also tested out my new griddle pan and it was really good although I could only fit 6 rashers of bacon on it so I may get a bigger one later on so I can do a whole packet of bacon to have spare for later in the day to snack on! I also bought a new ceramic frying pan that is the same as the griddle pan as it was so easy to clean it makes sense and I will throw away my old non-stick pans as they are pretty toxic and are all scratched up and not really non-stick any more!
By the end of the day I was only on 1484 steps π
Day 108 – Wednesday 16th April 2025
Weight = Scales out of batteries π
Steps = 9866
So this morning I woke up early and started to organise the flat as I had shopping arriving between 9:30 and 10:30 am so I wanted to make sure that the flat looked less like a hoarder’s house for once!
I also stripped the bedding off of my bed and washed it and also cleaned the bathroom as that was a state too!
I also bot my shares money into my account this morning so I decided to buy another set of Avian 172.5″ cranks as they have stopped my knee pain pretty much all together so I will stick them on the StayStong with the 2.10″ tyres so that when I start riding it again I have no knee issues!
I have decided that I am going to sell the Standard Cruiser and OS20 Frames and I will get Gary to make me an OS20 frame as well as the second Cruiser frame that he is making me.
I am currently getting my bedding dry and then I will load the car up and head to my parents as I have hoovering and mopping to do at their house before I go to Andover this evening.
The batteries arrived with my shopping so I have put them in the scales and also in my body fat measurement thingy and I am apparently 23.5 % body fat which is a lot better than I was expecting π I was expecting around 30% to be honest!
That means I only need to lose 12.5% body fat to get to 10% body fat π From this I can calculate that my lean mass is around 82.62 kgs so 10% on top of that would be 90.88 kgs which seems to be a bit high to be honest!
I will take the readings from this device with a pinch of salt but its as good guestimate!
So I have just got home from Andover and I was able to ride the StayStrong with no issues with the wrist at all π Gates feel so much better on the Cruiser compared to the Jump bike too. I am going to try putting the front wheel from the StayStrong onto the Curtis tomorrow to see how my wrist feels at gates tomorrow night!
Hopefully the fat tyre will resolve my wrist issues enough to allow me to ride the BMX again!
I also got my fastest gate time at Andover tonight at 2.543 seconds compared to my time of 2.557 seconds on the Supercross back in February so I am definitely getting faster π I also didn’t get tired at all this evening so that is either down to the NMN or the Creatine or the total rest day I had yesterday π Either way it is working π
Day 109 – Thursday 17th April 2025
Weight = 108.9 kgs
Steps = 7172
This morning I woke up at 6 am with my alarm, got up did my weigh-in and I was up to 108.9 kgs which is disappointing! I was really hurting from last night’s gates so I decided to rest as I have gates again tonight!
As the last time that I had eaten yesterday was about 3 pm I decided that I may as well try and get a 3 day fast in before my holiday ends so that is what I am doing now!
I then went back to sleep until just before 11 am so I guess that I was tired!
Today I am building up my Standard 125R 24″ that I got back from my friend (waiting on a bottom bracket to arrive that I just ordered) and taking my friends parts off of the Chase ready to put them on the Dialled that I swapped with him when I grab it tonight at gates.
In the afternoon I broke down the Chase and washed and dried all of my parts and hung the frame on the wall as I am not going to use it for now. I then took the front wheel off of the StayStrong with the 2.10 Powerblock on it and put it on the Curtis to see how it rides at gates tonight. I also oiled the chain and checked it over then pumped up the tires. I am not sure how much riding I will be able to do as I’m am feeling the effects of not eating a bit at the moment! As I was sorting out the Curtis the new Avian 172.5 mm cranks got delivered from Crucial even though I only bought them yesterday so Crucial came through again π
By 17:00 I did a bit of a weigh-in and I am down to 107.5 kgs so in about 12 hours I have lost an amazing 1.4 kgs π
Tonight after gates I am going to swap the parts from the StayStong onto my Dialled MX 24 frame as my friend from Andover rides a Dialled and he says they are amazing with the big tyres on as they have a really low bb height so feel really planted at speed and jump really well so I will try it out.
If the Curtis feels good then I will most likely keep the Dialled as my pump track bike and sell the StayStrong frame as I don’t need both. I am also likely to sell the Standard 125R Cruiser frame and forks as I need to get the Supercross frame up for sale as well. I think that I will keep the rear wheel as I can convert it to a 20 mm axle then when I get my other Curtis back I can use it on that.
Gates went really well and I felt way better than I had expected to as I was feeling a bit tired before I left for gates. I even got a pb of 2.332 seconds which is significantly better than my old pb of 2.382 seconds so I’m pretty happy about that and also how the Curtis rode as well!
After gates I couldn’t really sleep until almost midnight so I decided to turn off my alarm and sleep until I woke up naturally.
By the end of the day I got to 7172 steps.
Day 110 – 17th April 2025
Weight = 106.9 kgs
Steps = 2615 Steps
I woke up about 6:30 and went to the bathroom and did my weigh-in and I was amazed to see that I had lost exactly 2 kgs from yesterday which is amazing. By 7 am I was 40 hours into the fast so in 40 hours I had lost 2 kgs which is way more than I thought that I would have lost by now. I have also noticed that my asthma is getting much better and I didn’t even get my inhaler out of my bag last night and didn’t need it over night at all which is the first time that I can remember in the last 30 years or so that I haven’t needed the inhaler at night!
This morning I have been thinking about my training and I have decided that from next week I will walk in the morning + 1 form of training exercise too per day so that I am not doing too much each day except for Sunday when I will go for a road ride and do a pump track or track session as well. So my training week will look something like this:
This will work out well as I start a bit later on Monday and Fridays so I will have time to get a good gym session in before starting work. During the week I will Ruck to the office with the 9 kg weight in the rucksack to make the walk a bit harder and I will aim to walk at least 10000 steps a day to keep the benefits of the walking first thing. I do half days on Tuesdays as I am on call Monday nights so doing a sprints/ track session then means that I have enough time to get a decent session done. I am doing prints on Saturday morning for the same reason! I am planning to do 10-15 minutes of car park skills before sprints sessions and track/ gates sessions as well to try and improve my manualing skills as well over time.
Having only one exercise session a day means that it should be easy to be consistent over time which I think is the most important thing over time.
Along with this training I will also do 10 minutes of walking backwards and the wrist roller until failure every day Monday to Friday to keep rehabing my knee and wrist injuries.
I spent all afternoon evening watching films and then about 8 pm I was thinking about food so much from all the food in films that I started researching Carnivore recipts for when I can eat. I did this until my son arrived at about 22:30 then we chatted for a bit and then I went down a rabbit hole looking for a waterproof screen to use for the timing system at the track until I went to sleep after 1 am.
Today was most definately the hardsest day so far as everything I watched on TV has so much food in it I started to hyperfixate on the food until I started researching the carnivore diet and get receips then weirdly I was fine.
Saturday 19th April 2025
Weight = 105.5 kgs
Steps = 2736 Steps
So even though it was gone 1 am when I went to sleep last night I woke up without an alarm at 7 am and got up and did my weigh-in and I am down to 105.5 kgs this morning so 3.4 kgs lost in 64 hours of not eating
I am feeling really good and still not having asthma or waking up during the night so I am sleeping much better especially as I am now able to breath through my nose now which is amazing.
With 8 hours to go I must say that this fast has been way easier than I thought that it would be to be honest which I guess is down to the fact that I have a lot of fat reserves to keep me fed unlike most of the people on youtube that do the fasts. For me the best part of the fast is the fact that I am feeling much better than I was before the fast. Other than the lack of Asthma and being able to breath I now have no leg pain which was pretty constant before the fast.
Granted I didn’t get out of bed yesterday other than to get water and work on a couple of bikes and tidy the lounge in the afternoon and walk to the garage to put some bikes away so I was pretty much sedentary which will have helped a lot with the leg pain.
The most amazing thing is that my sugar cravings have totally gone where as when I was intermittent fasting by about 4 pm every day I had major sugar cravings literally EVERY day which I usually ended up giving into. For the past 3 days I haven’t even thought about eating sweets and chocolate even though I have popcorn and penguin biscuits in the house and I have picked them up and put them in the cupboard yesterday when I was tidying up and didn’t even want to eat them!
I don’t expect the last 8 hours of the fast to be any different than the past 64 hours really so I am going to chill in the house and just get through it.
I have decided to fast an extra hour until 4 pm as I started my fast between 3 and 4 pm on Wednesday and I didn’t take an exact time as I wasn’t planning to fast when I finished eating so if I go to 4 pm I can safely say that I have completed a 3 day fast as I had definitely finished eating by 4 pm as I was getting in the car to go to my friend’s house at 4 pm!
I am hoping that now my sugar cravings seem to have gone, sticking to the carnivore diet and intermittent fasting will be way easier over the next few months as I see if the effects of the fast remain when I start eating again! It will be interesting to see if the reduced Asthma (or total lack of it so far) and ability to breath through my nose even when led down remain when I start eating or if they come back. Once I start slowly re-adding foods I can see what exactly triggers the Asthma if anything does as I plan to try and cut out the processed foods that I have been constantly eating since before covid which have been totally messing my health up and caused me to get really fat and unfit!
So I broke the fast a little early in the end as my mum was making bacon and eggs when we got to my parents house so I actually did a 71.5 hour fast but close enough π
We then went to my brother’s house for 4 pm and I ate a few non-carnivore things but I was pretty good. I didn’t eat any crisps or nuts but did have a beer and a few potatoes, a couple of roast potatoes, some home made bread and a bit of a shortbread pudding that my niece had made so not the ideal way to break a fast but it could have been a lot worse! We headed home about 8 pm and I had a banana to finish the day off.
All in all the fast was a great idea as I have lost a bit of weight, I feel a lot better and my asthma has been non-existent for the past 3 days too π
This morning I woke up at 6 am and got showered and dressed and then my Son decided that he was really tired so wanted to sleep in so I let him and he woke up at 3pm! So day wasted! My fitbit battery was at 15% so I put it on to charge and forgot about it until 8 pm when I was getting ready to take my son home so by the end of the I only walked 656 steps total! I think that it would have been about 2000 steps if I had the fitbit on but it was still not a lot of steps!
Monday 8th April
This morning I woke up with my alarm at 5 am got up and got ready, put my weight vest and headphones on and went for a Ruck as planned. My stomach wasn’t feeling great this morning and I almost turned around and headed home a couple of times but I powered through it and got the full ruck done π
When I got home I had to rush to the toilet but I got the ruck done and i am feeling pretty good about myself at the moment π I then opened all the doors and windows in the flat and did my LΓΌften while writing this so start to get back to my morning routine again! I am now going to get showered and dressed and head into the office for the morning. I have just remembered I am on a 1/2 day too as I was on call on Friday night π
On the way home from work I tweaked my back so I decided to rest instead of riding the bike.
After lunch my son came over and we went for driving lesson then I came home and started work again. At about 6 pm I got the treadmill out and did about 4000 steps to get to 15000 steps for the day and I also did 3 x sets of 3 wrist roller with 1kg on it which is really hard to do and was basically to failure each set!
I decided that other than the wrist roller I wouldn’t do any weights as I didn’t want to hurt my back any more than it is!
Tomorrow after lunch I am popping over to TF Tuned to drop my forks off to get the travel dropped to 80mm from 100mm to see if that makes the Black Market feel better. I will also ask them if they have any ideas for short travel forks for the bmx build too.
Total steps done today was 15378
Tuesday 8th April
So this morning I woke up and my back was really sore so I decided to rest today so that I can get up and walk tomorrow morning again. I think for now I will just focus on working out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and get in the habit of doing that and then rest on Tuesday and Thursday until I get used to the training load and then build up from there!
I am really glad that I bought the wrist roller though as my wrist is feeling a lot stronger this morning after just 3 sets of 3 reps last night! Hopefully after a month or so of doing it I can stop using the wrist guard and maybe use the Curtis for gates again!
At lunch time my son came over and he drove me to TF Tuned in Westbury and I dropped off my forks and had a word with one of the technicians about forks for the bmx cruiser as well while I was there. The forks will not be worked on until the 28th April so I will have to make do with the Pikes for now π
He then drove us home and I chilled until 7 pm when I drove to the track and grabbed the keys for the new container so i can get into it tomorrow night to setup for gates!
I then filled the car up with petrol and headed home again.
I managed a grad total of 2397 steps yesterday which is abysmal!
Wednesday 9th April
Weight = 108.4 kgs
I woke up at 4:30 this morning without an alarm and then did my weigh-in and I was up to 108.4 kgs again this morning so I need to walk every day but do every other day with the weight vest on I think! My back was feeling better so at about 5:!5 I got dressed, put the weight vest on and went for my usual Ruck. The back felt fine so when I got part way back down the hill I took a detor as it was light and walked through the park and onto the 2 tunnels then headed home from there so not much of a difference but more of a walk away from traffic to finish off with.
I then did some work and then showered and got dressed and then rode the ebike into the office and did some bits then headed home again!
At lunch time I loaded my bike and kit into the car and drove to my parents then I worked there until 4 pm then headed over to my friends house and he drove us to Andover for gates. Had a really good gates session and I really like the Black Market Contraband and I am getting used to it for gates although it is not really good for them! My wrist held up really well to gates though and I was pain free all session π
By the end of the day I had completed 13759 steps
Thursday 10th April
I woke up a bit later this morning as I got home just after 22:00 and couldn’t sleep for a bit. I woke up and did my weigh-in (108.1 kgs) and then showered and got dressed and headed into the office and worked in the office until just after 10:00 when I walked home. I chilled at lunch time and then at 17:00 I headed to the track to setup for gates.
I did a few gates but I was really sore from the gates session on Wednesday so I took it a bit easy. At 20:00 I packed up then headed home.
By the end of the day I was on 13649 steps.
Friday 11th April
I woke up this morning with my alarm at 5:00 and got up and did my weigh-in and I was back up to 108.2 kgs again. I was really sore after 2 days of gates so I decided that I needed a rest day to recover. I was on call again so I was basically working all day until 22:00 so it made sense to have a rest day.
I had been thinking about getting a backpack weight to make it easier to go rucking without looking like I was wearing a bomb vest so I pulled the trigger and bought a 9kg one from Amazon which will be delivered tomorrow. This now means that I can ruck to the office in the morning and not look like a complete nutter π I can also ruck any time that I am walking anywhere now π
In the evening after my on call finished and I was waiting up for my son to get home from work I started thinking about my training and about how much I am still over-training most days and how I am not being consistent with my walking at all so I am going to change back to rucking to the office/ gym as soon as I get up in the morning first thing as I was way more efficient doing that that I have been getting up and walking.
I also decided that I will pay for the gym again and do 2 leg days as week to get me back in the habit of working out regularly again and also to help me get stronger and faster. I don’t think that I need upper body weights other than the wrist rolls at the moment as the BMX works out my core and upper body enough as it is!
My first revision to my training is as follows:

In my head this seems like not enough training load but I think that in the long run it is easily obtainable so should be sustainable long term so should get me training consistently and it is also very BMX specific. Also using my walk to work as my ruck each day should make it easier for me to keep consistent compared to having to get up and ruck before work. It will also save me an hour a day that I can use for study.
I only walked 2565 steps today π
Saturday 12th April
I woke up this morning at 6:30 without an alarm and I got up and did my weigh-in and I am still 108.2 kgs this morning so not lost any weight but not gained any either! I have noticed that I am looking a lot less bloated and my arms are starting to get more toned too so that’s a good sign!
My legs were really sore so I decided that i am going to chill this morning and then when my son leaves for his driving lesson/test I will get changed and head out on a slow road bike ride along the 2 tunnels to try and spin out the pain a bit!
Over the past month or so I have been talking to my friends at BMX about struggling to train 2 days in a row and they have all suggested trying creatine as it helps with the recovery so I have just bought some and I will use my holiday to creating load (20mg per day for the first 7 days) so that when I go back to work I will be on a maintenance dose again.
Regarding the gym I will pay for it on pay day on Tuesday then I will get all the door entry stuff sorted on my holiday ready to start training on the next Tuesday when I am back at work again and fully loaded with creatine.
I am going to use my holiday to ride the BMX (24″ Jump bike) as much as possible. I will also get my sprints sessions done next week too so that the distances are sorted and also the cone placements for my timing system are also marked so when I am back at work the sprint setup is as fast as possible.
I am now chilling in bed with my legs raised to try and get rid of some of the leg soreness before my ride this afternoon.
So as I am not making my 15000 steps as day goal at the moment from tomorrow I will start walking 15000 steps a day Monday to Friday and then at the weekends I will just do BMX and road biking instead of walking!
My 5 am walk will actually be a ruck with the 10 kg weight vest Monday to Friday too as I want to get my weight down as quickly as possible!
I got a wrist roller this morning from Amazon and tomorrow lunch time after my bike ride I will do 3 sets of wrist rolls, body weight squats, Bulgarian split squat and handlebar press ups plus 10 minutes of backwards walking. I will do the same on Wednesday and Friday’s too.
Tuesdays and Thursdays I will go to the track and do sprints then ride the track.
This will be my goal from now on to consistently do this training for the rest of the month!
As it was Mothers day My son drove us down to Weymouth to meet up with my parents and Brother’s family for the day as we had a table booked in a local pub for 2 pm.
Before we went into the pub and after the meal we took the dogs for a walk so by the end of the day I was on
Monday 31 st March and Tuesday 1st April
So the week hasn’t gone totally to plan as I had conjunctivitis at the weekend so I couldn’t go into the office on Monday or Tuesday and combined with having to wait in for deliveries on Tuesday meant that I got really low step counts on both days:

Wednesday 2nd April
On Wednesday I was feeling better so I got up early and walked into the office as I had a lot to do in there and then walked home again before my 9 am meeting. At lunch time I went to my parents house as I planned to go to Andover for gates in the evening so its easier to get out from their house than from mine. This meant that other than a bit of hoovering I didn’t get any exercise at lunch time. After work I drove to my Friends house an he gave me a lift to Andover and I did a gates session on the jump bike to protect my wrist! The session went well and I learnt to do a pump jump on the step up on the first straight which is way faster than the manual I used to do. by the end of the day I had done 15619 Steps π
Thursday 3rd April
On Thursday I got up early again and walked to the office again. At lunch time I worked on my BlackMarket Contraband 24″ bike and fitted the new to me forks that arrived on Wednesday. I also put in a new headset as the old one had fallen apart. I then went to the track at 5 and set up for gates and then rode a bit and the bike feels amazing other than the bars are too high and the front wheel kept working loose all the time! Other than that the bike is amazing and manuals like a dream π I actually got super fast smooth last straights for the first time EVER π When I got home I walked the rest of my 15000 steps on the treadmill. I finished the day on 15113 Steps.
Friday 4th April
So today was a total write off as I worked from 5 am until just before midnight without a break so I didn’t have time to do anything other than a bit of cleaning here and there and fitting my cranks and pedals on the road bike as they arrived in the afternoon:
The road bike looks mint with the new cranks so it just needs the front Derailleur, cable and new bar tape fitting and it will be ready for more hilly rides! Its fine for the flatish rides that I plan to do for now so its not an issue but will need sorting when I get some fitness back.
I finished the day with a lot ticked off at work and have a posh road bike again but only 1957 Steps for the day so my 15000 steps a day streak went out of the window pretty quickly! (2 days!)
Saturday 5th April
As I was up until after 1 am last night I slept in until 7 am and then got up, did my weigh-in and I am back to 108 kgs this morning as I caved yesterday and got a load of sweets and crisps and ate crap all day π I then got showered and dressed and headed to the track. As the main gates were closed I parked outside and walked up to the track and then grabbed the Black Market from the container and did some laps until my knee and wrist started hurting after 5 or 6 laps so I went home andtook the bike with me as I want to fit the lower bars, fill the forks up with air to make then stiffer and cut the steerer tube down when the pipe cutter and shock pump arrive later today.
I did remember to take a photo of the new stickers on the BlackMarket and they look pretty good to be fair:
I think with the lower bars, more air and the steerer cut the bike will be ready to go and I may take it for a ride again later! I may get my son to drive to a pump track on the way to my parents to practice his driving too π
While I am up and waiting for things to be delivered I am going to get the 24″ bikes out of the garage and get them fully up together and up for sale. I am also going to build the Supercross up as a Upgrade package of frame, 15mm Onyx rear wheel, BB and DXR cranks and stick it online for Β£500 and see if anyone bites.
So I have got the lower bars on and they feel better already:
I also got the front wheel spindle sorted as the quick release thingy had spun around a bit so wasn’t locking fully and the axle was not screwed in fully! Its now rock solid so hopefully it stays that way π
I have also got the DK 24″, GT 24″ and the Supercross frame, wheel cranks and bb bundle up for sale too. It looks like someone I know is interested in the DK already and I am meeting them tomorrow so he can have a play on it and test it out.
I have also sold a set of DXR 175mm cranks which I will get cash and a service for the Road bike so he can fit the front derailleur, cable and new bar tape and also dial in the gears so that’s a win win π
Looks like I have 2 people wanting to buy the DK so I have bought a set of lower rise bars for the jump bike in case I need to lower them any more π
I am still waiting for the time window of the suspension pump and pipe cutter to cut down the steerer tube and pump up the suspension then the jump bike is done!
So the pipe cutter and shock pump both arrived so I have now cut the steerer tube down a lot but I have left it long for now until I get the lower bars and have time to play around with the bar height over the coming weeks. Once I have settled on a height I will cut the steerer down more as the forks are staying on the bike. I also cut down the seat tube on the OS20 so that it could be slammed too.
Next week I am going to start doing body weight exercises Monday, Wednesday and Friday Lunchtimes to try and sort out my wrist, shoulder and knees as they are not getting better on their own! I am also going to start backwards walking Mon – Friday as it helps my knees a lot! I am also going to start getting up early and walking Monday – Friday and ride the road bike Saturday and Sunday first thing to mix it up a bit!
I really need to get back in the habit of exercising more as I have got really slack recently and I seem to just be gaining weight not losing it even though I am still somewhat active!
So this morning I woke up at 5 am and started work as I was in the middle of something that I started last night and left running so I didn’t walk again this morning! To make matters worse I put on 1 kg yesterday so I am back up to 108.6 kgs again today π
I have also been slacking on updating my Training log so that is not as useful as it should be either! It does highlight just how slack I have been recently!

I haven’t walked 12000 in a day since 24/03/2025 and I haven’t walked more than 8000 steps all but 2 days in that time which is really poor!
This is the kick up the arse that I need to start exercising regularly again starting today! I am also going back on the carnivore diet from today so I should hopefully start getting my weight back down and start feeling better again!
I have decided to up my daily steps to 15000 steps a day to get me back on track and burn more fat at the same time!
After I finish work at 11:30 today I will get the jump bike on the car and head to the track for an hour or so then get into my road kit and go for a ride up the 2 tunnels as well then at about 15:30 my son is swinging by so I will then give him a lift home and then head to my parents to do the cleaning and feed the fish so it should be pretty easy to get to 12000 steps today but if not I will go for a walk when I get home from their house to make sure that I get the steps in!
Last night I cooked a beef joint so I have a couple day’s beef in the fridge which will make sticking to the carnivore diet easier to stick to as well so I am hoping with starting to walk 12000 steps a day, riding the jump bike and the road bike I should get the weight dropping back down pretty quickly!
I will start getting up at 5 am and rucking again from tomorrow so that I can make my life easier by getting a big chunk of the steps in before work and also get the added benefits of being more relaxed when I start work and also get the morning sun before work (Just!) too π
I think with consistent walking and bike riding plus riding the Jump bike I should get my weight in check pretty quickly and start seeing it drop significantly when combined with the Carnivore diet and intermittent fasting too! As it stands I haven’t actually lost any weight this year! In fact I have actually gained 0.4 kgs π
This is really annoying as I worked really hard in January/ February to drop 3 kgs only to stop being consistent in March and put it all back on plus an extra 0.2 kgs π
This shows that I need to get back to walking consistently hence my goal of walking 15000 steps a day to undo all the bad I did in March π
Upping my step goal will also mean that my average steps for the year will go over 12000 again as my average for the year so far stands at 11558.1 steps which is still over 10000 steps a day but under my goal for the year of 12000 steps as day!
Not shown in the Training log is the fact that all the walking has greatly improved my fitness level and health and I am now able to breath through my nose which I was unable to do at the start of the year and walking is not painful or difficult any more which is good too π
I am just updating my fridge training log which I haven’t used since January and was a really good way for me to stay motivated as I saw it every time I went in the kitchen so I was constantly reminded how many days in a row I have reached my goal etc!
As well as getting the Fridge planner updated I have also got the Pro Dialled out of the hall cupboard and put the bars on it:
I have to dial in the brakes and torque all the bolts later and tighten the chain a bit then its ready to take photos and get it up for sale! I also need to get some photos of my Pro XL Dialled as well so I can get that sold. I found some more Halo 20″ wheels in the cupboard too so I will sell them too as I don’t need them as my S&M 20″ already has profile mini wheels on it!
Once I get some parts sold I will start getting the parts that I need to finish off the GT and DK 24″ bikes then I can sell them too and get some more cash back.
I will also get the Standard 24″ back from my friend as his son now has a Curtis Cruiser so doesn’t need mine and I can get that up for sale too as I will not be using it any time soon.
Once I get some of the bikes sold I will talk to Gary about making me a second DJ frame, an OS20 frame and maybe a 24″ cruiser frame/ dirt jump frame that I can put big tyres on and use to train on and protect my wrist!
I have just checked through my posts and 32 x 16 gearing for the Jump bike is basically the same gearing as 36 x 16 on the 24″ BMX so I will go with that if the chain-ring clears the frame. I have some 170 mm Shimano Saints Cranks and a 32 t chain ring so when the new Bottom Bracket arrives from Cruicial I will change the cranks over and put the 16t driver on the wheel and the new chain and the Jump bike will be as much like a race BMX as possible!
As it turns out I have 2 x Halo drivers with 16T sprockets so I can also swap the 24″ jump bike to 36 x 16 as well π
I have just put the 32T chain ring on the Saints now:
So this week has been a really busy week and I have also been really lazy and not walked first thing at all! this has meant that my steps have been way off where they should be other than Monday when I had time to do the treadmill while I was on call!

So as you can see other than Monday and Tuesday when I walked into the office early my step counts have getting steadily worse and Monday was the only day that I got over 12000 steps and yesterday I was 10000 steps away from my step goal as I didn’t leave the house at all!
I will do my best to get my steps in today as I am on call again tonight so I will walk on the treadmill again and I am at the track this afternoon so I should get some more steps in there!
Tomorrow morning I will get up and go for a long Ruck to make up for the slack week and then I have gates in the afternoon and I will Ruck first thing on Sunday too!
The one highlight of the week was that I am finally under 108 kgs for more than one day so hopefully when I get back to walking the weight will drop off! I am going to get my road bike sorted over the weekend too so that I can try to ride that to see if my shoulder is up to riding it yet and then if it is I am going to go for an hour or so’s ride every lunch time Mon-Friday to try and drop weight as I am not going to the track much anyway so I might as well get fitter and then start riding BMX in the evening instead! This way I will walk first thing, ride the road bike at lunch time and ride BMX in the evenings so 3 a day training π
Gates and training are moving to the evenings next week so I can hit a pump track first thing at the weekends to work on my bike skills!
So as I didn’t get home until almost 23:00 last night I slept in until 6 am and then get straight to work! I was feeling really off this morning and a bit hung over even though I only drank 1 pint last night!!
I did my weigh in and I am back up to 108.1 kgs which is not good at all!
To combat my weight gain I am going to focus on being consistent with my training (Even though I missed this morning’s ruck!) and then next month I will start back on the Carnivore diet to try and get the weight down a bit! I am also thinking that I will go for a bike ride early both days at the weekend instead of a Ruck to mix things up a bit and stop my training getting boring too!
I am also going to do a ride on Wednesday Lunch time too so that I can spin out my legs and burn some belly mid week as well as at the weekend.
